Existential risk from Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) or Superintelligent AI refers to the possibility that an AI system could surpass human intelligence, become uncontrollable, and act in ways that harm or even eradicate humanity. Unlike narrow AI (e.g., ChatGPT, self-driving cars), AGI would possess general reasoning, self-improvement, and goal-setting abilities, raising concerns about its alignment with human.
